About
This website was created, and is maintained by, myself (I prefer to remain anonymous) and is dedicated to the thousands of young people all over the world who get osteosarcoma (primary bone cancer) every year.
(Please make note of the fact that many cancers spread to the bones, such as prostate cancer and breast cancer, but they are not related to primary bone cancer (osteosarcoma) and the treatments for metastatic bone cancer and osteosarcoma are, for the most part, different.)
The average age of onset of osteosarcoma is 15 years of age.
Osteosarcoma is classified as an orphan disease because so few children are affected by it — only four or five in a million. Osteosarcoma research suffers from lack of funding because other cancers kill far more people and therefore have far higher funding priorities.
I do not solicit donations through my website and I do not accept any. Please donate through the Websites listed on the Support Groups and Donations page. I have absolutely no affiliation or connection with any of them.
I would appreciate any comments about the usefulness of my website or suggestions on how to improve it.
Thank you.
